Health Office Updates

We are excited to announce that the Waterbury Ambulance Service will be offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics at school locations in the coming weeks. These walk-in clinics will offer boosters and first or second doses to children and adults.

Boosters are recommended for many people who have completed their vaccine series. Check out the VDH website to find out if you should get a COVID-19 booster shot so that you can be up to date.

The Centers for Disease Control recently approved children ages 5 through 11 years to receive a booster shot 5 months after their initial vaccination series. The walk-in clinic will provide vaccines for both children and adults.  No registration is needed.

We anticipate that there may be additional sites offered in the future.

Staff Device Verification Process

Summer 2022

Purpose: To produce an accurate record of assigned staff devices (make, model, age) that will in turn improve our inventory tracking system, device upgrades, and annual budget processes.

Outcome

  • Every staff member with a device will verify the device’s barcode with a tech support specialist

  • Staff with more than one device will verify all devices

  • Staff will not be asked to hand over devices

  • Staff who verify a device that is out-of-life will receive a new device in the fall as appropriate

Verification process:

  • Techs will have a list of staff for each building

  • Staff present devices to tech. Tech records the barcode number and notes device type, condition, and age

  • Staff unable to verify device will be contacted to schedule a time/alternative verification method

Advisory

Appreciation! For everyone who stepped up this week to support students with all of the spirit week activities. With so many activities it takes all of us to help students max the event.

Next week in advisory the focus is on the final push for academics. This will be a time for final academic check ins. Be sure to celebrate successes as well as guide anyone who might be struggling. With no ELO in the schedule for students until June 8th, it is important that we provide encouragement and support to end the year well.
