Health Office Updates

Staff Emergency Health Forms:  will be put in mailboxes this week.  Please return them to  our boxes when complete (Magge Stone or Phil Stolz).

COVID Surveillance Testing:  We will not be sending emails on a weekly basis for those students in your TA.  If you have students who are newly signed up, I will email those TA's only by Thursday evening.  If a student tells you that they need to go get tested, please let them do so.  We will send them back with a pass.

Staff Meeting Calendar

Flex Block and ELO

Flex:  Just a quick reminder that if you haven’t introduced 10.02 to students and had them self-assess, next week is a good time to do that. There are ten sessions left (and three of them include assemblies).

ELO: The collective leadership teams and ELO committee continue to evaluate survey feedback and determine what shifts in ELO for second semester will help us continue to refine ELO into a program that meets the needs of ALL students. In the meantime, some short-term improvements have been identified.

Short-term improvements, effective immediately:

  • Please continue to book at least five students per teacher per ELO, and set the maximum to no fewer than 10, so that other students who are in that class can book there

  • Encourage teachers to communicate what will be happening in an ELO session using the session notes function in Adaptive Scheduler

  • Communicate fully-booked classes to students each week (TA announcements, TA slideshow)

  • Re-communicate the purpose of the day, how it works, rotation

  1. Consider a TED talk on ELO, short video - think about featuring students

  2. Go over feedback/changes in TA with a handout - suggest they share with their families

  3. Instagram!

Attendance Line

We have a new voicemail line that subs will use to call in attendance. That ext. is 8255. Please have your substitute notes/plans reflect this.

Welcome Ryan!

Ryan Alger is our new Facilities Manager who started this week! Please welcome Ryan to Harwood when you see him! (His mailbox will be at the end after April’s.)

Late Passes for TA

When students arrive late to school, they must always check in in the main office. The only time a student does not need a late pass is for TA. As long as the student has checked in the office, he/she can go right to TA.
